The number one reason entrepreneurs and small businesses struggle and ultimately fail, is because they don’t really know how to get customers.
But imagine for a moment what it would feel like…
- to have customers come to you for help and advice, instead of you having to hunt down and convince every single one to buy what you have to offer.
- to have customers who are happy to pay your above average prizes, instead of having to deal with prize haggling and people who don’t appreciate the value of what you have to offer.
- to have ongoing relationships with satisfied customers who keep coming back for more, instead of constantly having to get more customers in the door and worry about whether your current source of customers will dry out.
And imagine what difference the money, respect and freedom, that comes with it, would make in your life.
But is that even possible?
Of course it is. We aren’t talking about becoming an overnight fantazillionaire here. Just about making a decent living and getting paid for the honest work you do and the value you deliver to other people.
And all it takes, is to get enough customers and keep them happy. If you do that, all other problems can be solved along the way.
Yes, you have to actually deliver value to other people, but anyone can do that. And you’ll have to put in some work to get there, but probably less than you think.
As long as you have what I call a “customer magnet”.
So what is a “customer magnet”?
I’ll explain. It’s basically a website, but it’s more than just a website.
It’s a system that automate and leverage the process of:
- getting traffic (potential customers)
- turning the traffic into subscribers (creating a relationship with them)
- selling your product(s) and/or service(s) (turning them into customers)
And keeping them coming back for more.

About The Author
My name is Tune Seidelin and I’m the guy behind Website From Scratch. That’s me in the picture – I’m the one on the left (it was taken during a vacation in Chile).
Back in 2007 a friend and I started a business based on teaching poker players how to improve their game (I was a professional poker player at the time, but eventually stopped playing poker because I wanted to do something more meaningful with my life).
Our business plan was to create instructional videos (two per week) and make them available on a membership basis for around $15 (DKK89 – I’m from Denmark) per month.
And we grew the business to more than 600 members in just 6 months, with growth every single month, before I realized I wanted to do something more with my life than just playing poker.
So what happened with the business?
Well, we kept it going with a minimum of effort (meaning keeping the existing customers happy, but not doing any marketing, which resulted in a slow drop in the number of members each month) and we eventually sold the business.
It was a nice little business and we did a few things well, but to be honest we could have done a lot better and it wasn’t just a dance on roses.
Back then I knew nothing about things like SEO (getting traffic from Google and other search engines), blogging, conversions (e.g. turning traffic into subscribers) and testing.
And neither my partner nor I knew how to make websites.
So we hired a web developer to help us out. And we soon found out how expensive and inflexible that can be, and how hard it is to get exactly what you want, when you want it.
Since then I’ve learned how to make my own, inexpensive, powerful and professional looking, websites even though I’m not a web developer (I can hardly write any code) and I’m not a fancy designer (as you might be able to tell).
And now I’m able to share the knowledge and know-how about website creation that I wish I had when I first ventured into the jungle of entrepreneurship.
But the best part is the fact that I’ve found a way to combine my own entrepreneurial spirit (I just can’t help myself) with doing something meaningful through this project.
It’s meaningful to me because I get to help and empower entrepreneurs around the world.
And because I believe entrepreneurship is the foundation of prosperity, both in society as a whole and on a personal level.
Society prospers from entrepreneurship when problems are solved, wealth is created and from having more people take responsibility and becoming producers instead of just consumers.
And the individual entrepreneur prospers not only from the money made, but from being forced outside his or her comfort zone and growing as a human being in the process (becoming more proactive, self reliant, competent and confident). And if they are anything like me, from doing something they love.
